The Fields Pond Audubon Center 

The Fields Pond Audubon Center, in Holden, is a magnificent local treasure with over 200 acres of field, forest and wetland habitats surrounding a 190-acre pond.  A wide array of plant and animal species can been seen, and public trails are open each day from dawn to dusk. Fields Pond is a popular destination for hiking, bird watching, snowshoeing, nature photography, swimming, canoeing and kayaking. 

Educational programs are offered year-round to the general public, professional groups, and school children throughout Penobscot County.  The Nature Center at Fields Pond, which includes a Maine Audubon Nature Store, is a popular venue for special events and retreats.
